I have a bag of old pre-decimal pennies, note on Ebay that they sell for all sorts of prices…… are there any that are really ‘valuable’ & worth keeping if I had one?I think a king was not on the throne for long once & so any coins in his reign should be worth something maybe…. not very good with history I’m afraid!
Pennies
1881, 1895, 1904, 1950, 1951
1937 Edward VIII abdicated
Depending on grade most from 1951 down are worth something even if it’s .25 U.S. here in the states there are quite a few collectors of English large cents. If you have a bag you must be from the UK and in that case a dealer can help you. Most of the really rare and scarce coins come from the 1890′s and down. An 1877 small date is worth over $100. From 1897 and down there were a lot of varieties at times for the same year and some are very rare. Going by Coincraft the 1951 is somewhat scarce for most went to Bermuda it books at 10 Pounds in grade VF. See a coin dealer in the UK or if you are from another country see a world coin dealer.
